by the French Art Deco Movement (1910-1940) and the bold angular
shapes that were indicative of the era Catherine Abel has created a stunning
portfolio of figurative oil paintings.
She
has been inspired and influenced by the cubist painters of the period
such as Lempica, Le'ger, and Picasso. Abel
combines classic styles with complex thems of modern feminine sexuality
which celebrates the nude form as an erotic landscape.
